Delegate Memories of Boston '04

Lindsey Reynolds conveyed my e-mail request to the Va Delegates today for comments and memories of the DNC in Boston. For those that wish to post shorter notes and greetings to your fellow Delegates, this entry will provide an anchor point. All you need to do is add a comment at the bottom of this entry.

I've added a link to the left sidebar just below the photos so you have an easy way to participate and read the words of your fellow Delegates. The link will remain in place for the next few months. Anything submitted, of course, will be part of the permanent archive here at Documenting Democracy.

RanJana Chachra sent me the first comment a few minutes ago, so I have attached it below to get the ball rolling. Thanks, RanJana! :)

Click the "comments" link below to see the entries.

If you wish to submit a longer entry more in the form of an essay or article, don't hesitate to e-mail us and we'll make it a standalone entry.

The entire week was awesome, filled with memories. The DNC convention was well organized. People were so unified and there was so much excitement. The crowds were loud and colorful, filled with optimism about the future of America with Senators Kerry and Edwards leading this nation. The women's caucus was powerful and filled with energy. Every one had tambourines and there was a lot of noise in the room. There were delegation parties and other parties. This way I got acquainted with other Va. delegates. The extensive press from all over the world was present and we saw many well known anchors and reporters fairly close. There were several celebrities real close up such as actress, Ellen Bernstein, was sitting just behind us. People wore hats that were colorful and elaborately decorated and it was fun being with happy people. Speeches were extraordinary one and all but especially that of Barack OBAMA. He was fabulous. I loved everything about the convention; the balloons, the confetti was so picturesque. I felt fortunate and absolutely thrilled to be a part of the process in nominating a presidential candidate and was so delighted to be there. One of my memories is also that of very tired feet!

Also a note of thanks to all who made it possible for us delegates to have such a wonderful and comfortable stay in Boston. Many thanks to our bean town buddies as well...Gretchen, Ed and Greg.

Thank you. On to Victory in November 2004!!

Best:
